John O Connor Masters in Philosophy. Dip. Fine Art (Dist)
Born in Cork, Ireland in 1956.

Educated at Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork. 1974-79 and
University of Ulster 1993-97.
Member of Visual Artists Ireland ,National Sculpture Factory .
His work has been exhibited both Nationally and Internationally.
He has been awarded 40 public art commissions Nationally and two in
Northern Ireland

In 2018 John Retired from his Lecturing post at Waterford IT ,where he was
course leader in Art. He specialised in the areas of Sculpture , Photography
and Painting.
He has extensive experience of Lecturing and teaching at both Second and
Third level.
Through his work as an artist ,he has experience of working with various
community groups ,including Youth organisations, Women’s groups ,Children
in National schools and children and young adults with special needs.

His public sculptures are site specific and are constructed from Stainless
steel, Bronze, glass, and stone.
Gallery works are constructed from wood ,glass, metals and fibre optics.
